Start and organize your archive

Begin with your storyteller profile, then add one memory at a time. Connect stories as your archive grows so the people, places, and moments around them remain easy to find.

Photographs, people, and places

Use Media for photographs and other files, People and Places for the identities that give stories context, and Family for connections between people.

Accounts, sync, and backups

Without configured account storage, your archive is saved in this browser on this device. With a configured signed-in account, the app keeps an offline copy for that account and can synchronize it when connected.

Export regularly. Restoring a backup replaces the archive currently open after confirmation, while retaining its previous records as one recovery copy. Media originals are included only in a portable .lifearchive backup.

AI and voice tools

AI drafting and conversational voice are optional. AI draft and follow-up actions send interview text to OpenAI when you choose them. Conversational voice sends microphone audio only after you accept its disclosure checkbox and start the conversation. Generated suggestions can be wrong, so keep and review your originals and versions.

You can type and complete stories without AI. Connected cloud features need a network connection and the required provider configuration.

Sharing an edition

Sharing gives access to one selected, fixed Life Book edition, not your whole archive. A commenter can suggest changes; the storyteller decides whether to accept them. Manage an edition from Life Book.

Life Books, membership, and printing

Create a Life Book and download its reading PDF. Membership, credits, quotes, proofs, and printing depend on configured providers and available commerce features.

A printed book requires both an available hardcover credit and a current shipping quote, proof approval, verified payment, and a separate final confirmation. Payment alone does not submit a book for printing.

Offline use

Open TalestoKeep.com online first so its app files can be cached. Local work and already cached pages can remain available offline; cloud features still need a connection.

Troubleshooting

Update the page

Reconnect, refresh the page, and let an available update finish before trying again.

Find a story

Use Timeline or Search to find the relevant story, then open it to review its details and versions.

Uncertain Details is for uncertain details awaiting confirmation.

Changing devices

Keep a current portable backup before moving devices or restoring data. Browser-only storage does not move automatically to another device.
